Pipeline rehabilitation

The MSS allows for a certified permanent repair for offshore and inland waters without suspending production. Although developed as a maintenance tool to repair eroded or corroded risers and pipelines, the MSS is now used to prevent riser and pipeline failure in new offshore installations as well, protecting sections of pipelines and risers known to experience accelerated rates of corrosion.
Mexssub’s patented technology eliminates the need to remove other welded sleeves and can be installed over other systems. It also offers retro-fit solutions with several installation options for operating pipeline systems.
New risers protected by the MSS will deliver much longer service life and eliminate the need for field rehabilitation in the future. New risers are type-certified as permanent by Det Norske Veritas (DNV) and Mexssub certifies the process procedures and materials used in the corrosion protection system.
How it works?
The MSS consists of a number of mating sleeve sections which are welded together around the damaged or corroded pipe area. Each sleeve repair system is manufactured from high quality steel (allows MAWP of 1,350 psi and 2,220 psi) and is certified by Det Norske Veritas.

The MSS can be designed to encapsulate a wide range of existing clamps, bends or changes in geometry.
All welding procedures for fabrication and field installation are qualified in accordance with industry standards.
Today, this in-situ rehabilitation process has been successfully deployed on over 650 pipeline applications.
Benefits:
• Permanent solutions for risers and pipelines.
• Significant reduction of accelerated internal and external
corrosion and erosion problems.
• Certified as a permanent solution by DNV.
• Structural reinforcement of the line.
• Outstanding performance with high temperatures.
All without stopping pipeline production
